  • Parents Association for Mentally Handicapped of Jamshedpur.

    Parents Association of Mentally Handicapped of Jamshedpur(PAMHJ) is a non-profit organization established in the year 2004. Some of the parents came together and formed an association to help the mentally challenged people and their families. Since then it has been making concerted efforts for the empowerment and welfare of the PwIDDs children with special focus on the people suffering from autism, cerebral palsy, multiple disabilities and mental retardation.

  • REGISTRATION AND AFFLIATION

    Registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860.

    Registered Under the PWD Act-1995.

    Donation to PAMHJ are exempted from Income Tax Under 12A/ 80G of IT Act 1961.

    Affiliated to Parivaar ( National Level Federation of Parents Associations of India).

    Registered by the National Trust (Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India).

  • Our Services

    PAMHJ is working to ensure that every intellectual & development disabilities have a disability certificate because it’s an important document for them to avail the benefits /facilities/rights that they are entitled to ,from the Central as well as State Government under various appropriate enabling legislations.

    It is working towards to bring awareness about the various laws and schemes for them and to the implementation of the schemes of the central and state government and the National Trust such as Niramaya, UDID, Sahyogi, Vivekananda Protsahan Bhatta,Railway UID, Legal Guardianship ,etc.

  • Our Activities

    Under its aim to work for the empowerment, care, training and rehabilitations of special persons, we are running a Vocational Training program for about 30nos. of PwIDDs who are above the age 18 years. They have been given training to make candle, cotton wicks in our Day Care Centre which are being marketed locally.

    The earnings generated are disbursed among these PwIDDs. Apart from this PAMHJ has been organizing awareness programs regarding the various welfare schemes of the Central and State govt. and is helping them to get benefit out of such as Niramaya Health Insurance scheme, Prerna, Legal Guardianship, Sahyogi scheme, Badhte Kadam campaign .Time to time it also organizes Regional Parents Meet and National Parents Meet etc. to sanitize them about the current trends in the field of mental disabilities. We were chosen to impart skill development training for these PwIDDs under the Prime Ministers Skill Development program by National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD), Govt. of India.

  • Our Challenges

    Place for accommodating more number of students and installation of new/more machines for making saleable items like candles, paper bags,cotton wicks,paper cup items. due to lack of space we could not accomodeate more divyangs in centre.

    Need support for construction of more space in existing setup.

    Financial challenge( less fund)- for developing infrastructure like installing machines for manufacturing other type candles,paper bags,any new product and raw material inventory).

    Need support to by promote products for their internal use.

  • Our Achievements

    19th National Parents Meet was hosted by Parents Association of Mentally Handicapped of Jamshedpur at 2011.

    PAMHJ organized a awareness campaign under the National Trust scheme “Badhte Kadam”, 11 blocks of East Singhbhum was covered during the camp from 22 November 2012 to 30 November 2012.

    PAMHJ organized a equipment distribution camp with National Insurance Corporation Limited and ALIMCO at 2018.Almost 261 equipment's like wheel chair,tricycle,hearingaid,etc.was distributed among the disable persons.

    84th Regional Parents Meet was also hosted by Parents Association of Mentally Handicapped of Jamshedpur at 2019.

    Care Giver Training was held by our organization, 151 trainees was given training and almost 117 trainees got placement in different Jobs like Special educators.
